BREAKFAST: Shut Down Wall Street – 7:00 a.m.
Enough of this economy that exploits and divides us. It’s time we put an end to Wall Street’s reign of terror and begin building an economy that works for all. We will gather in Liberty Square at 7:00 a.m., before the ring of the Trading Floor Bell, to prepare to confront Wall Street with the stories of people on the frontlines of economic injustice. There, before the Stock Exchange, we will exchange stories rather than stocks.
What did you think he was gonna say?
“I don’t have facts to back this up, but I happen to believe that these demonstrations are planned and orchestrated to distract from the failed policies of the Obama administration. Don’t blame Wall Street, don’t blame the big banks, if you don’t have a job and you’re not rich, blame yourself! … It is not a person’s fault if they succeeded, it is a person’s fault if they failed.”
Things seem to be escalating at the Occupy protests which are spreading around the country. Here is the latest footage of protesters against riot police in Occupy Oakland.

Police have clashed with hundreds of demonstrators in the U.S. city of Oakland. It happened when hundreds marched to show their anger at police clearing an “Occupy Wall Street” camp. Officers shot several rounds of tear gas into the crowd, who were trying to reclaim their position within the city centre. Earlier on Tuesday, 85 people were arrested, after they refused to take down their tents as part of the nationwide movement against corporate greed.
United States Marine Corps. Sgt. Shamar Thomas from Roosevelt, NY went toe to toe with the New York Police Department. An activist in the Occupy Wall Street movement, Thomas voiced his opinions of the NYPD police brutality that had and has been plaguing the #OWS movement.
Thomas is a 24-year-old Marine Veteran (2 tours in Iraq), he currently plays amateur football and is in college.
Thomas comes from a long line of people who sacrifice for their country: Mother, Army Veteran (Iraq), Step father, Army, active duty (Afghanistan), Grand father, Air Force veteran (Vietnam), Great Grand Father Navy veteran (World War II).
We will now see how serious these protesters are about this shocking development, read more below:
Last night, Mayor Bloomberg finally visited the Occupy Wall Street protest in lower Manhattan yesterday, nearly four weeks after it started on September 17th. But it wasn’t to eat free pizza: He informed protesters that Brookfield Properties, the management company which controls Zuccotti, will be conducting a long-overdue cleaning Friday morning. A cleaning! No big deal, right? Things have supposedly been getting a little ripe down there.
Not sure if Kanye and Russell are the right representatives for Occupy Wall Street because the obvious conflict of interest of them being heavily tied to Wall Street with their numerous business ventures. Photo -oppin’ at its best.
Finally the general public gets to see what Blacks have known and experienced for decades about police officers, at the recent breakouts of brutality at the #OccupyWallStreet protests.
